A dedicated Reproductive Law & Cross-Border Family Structuring practice - a specialism most Nigerian firms do not offer.
Precious Fasanya is a dual-qualified legal practitioner admitted to practise in England & Wales and Nigeria and the Managing Partner of Ava Law Practice. Her own practice focuses on public and regulatory law, dispute resolution, governance and cross-border family structuring, with experience in matters arising from the exercise of statutory and regulatory powers and rights, as well as complex cross-border legal matters.
In her regulatory practice, Precious advises and represents businesses, regulated organisations and individuals in matters involving regulatory compliance, investigations, enforcement action, licensing, statutory decision-making and regulatory appeals. She also advises on anti-money laundering (AML) compliance, regulatory risk and related governance obligations, particularly where compliance requirements intersect with business operations, investment and access to financial services.
Precious maintains a substantial family, cross-border family and reproductive law practice, advising on structuring and managing the legal architecture relating to surrogacy arrangements, adoption, intended parents, surrogates, fertility and reproductive arrangements, parentage and the legal considerations arising where a family is being created or structured across jurisdictions. She works with clients, healthcare and fertility professionals and other relevant stakeholders to identify and address the legal, documentary and cross-border issues that may arise throughout the arrangement. Where UK law is engaged, her dual qualification enables her to advise on the UK legal considerations alongside the Nigerian aspects of the matter.
Her public law practice includes challenges to decisions made by public authorities and regulators, particularly where questions of legality, procedural fairness, proportionality, disclosure or the proper exercise of statutory powers arise. Her governance and commercial disputes practice includes shareholder disputes and matters concerning the exercise of statutory shareholder rights, corporate decision-making and related remedies. Alongside her contentious practice, Precious has experience in legislative and policy advisory work and professional interest in the intersection of public law, regulatory governance, administrative justice and public policy.
